Loosylucy Review!
Melodic metal band, Core Zero's album features slick production by Steve Avedis. "Give It All" is aggressive and powerful, while the title track, "Doxology," has lightening fast guitar with an attention-grabbing half tempo chorus. On "Undefined," Core Zero slow things down, but without losing energy. "This is War" has a fantastic, technical guitar solo, and on "Home," lead vocalist, Bryan, exhibits astonishing power and emotion. The band is very tight, and show their stellar musicianship on tracks like, "Ignite" and "Behind These Eyes." On "Liar," they demonstrate solid songwriting skills. "Like a Disease" is fast with a wailing guitar. "Stand By Me" is amazing, and "Uncommon" has a rhythmically interesting groove to it. Excellent album!

From Gods of Indie Guitar CD Compilation submission:
"This is very well produced and is quite frankly the 'tightest' band I've ever heard. I dont know if even Metallica can stay this rhytmically tight. At one point you shifted from a very odd time/& tempo immediately to a slower tempo in 6/8 time.
Very few musicians in the world would even recognize that, and fewer still could pull it off and only a handful could do it as tightly and flawlessly as you did. Clearly you guys all know and 'feel' each other very well......"
"You guys are good... very good. You dont have any Guitar Gods among you, but with your style of music and with the way you play together flawlessly and with the overall sound as good as it is, you dont have to be.
We will keep our eyes on you guys for future projects. It is my feeling that with the right producer & management, you have a good future ahead of you. "
Our thanks to GIG for the honest and favorable response! Core Zero

Core Zero: Doxology
Metal band, Core Zero, keep the riffs crunching and the vocals soaring on its new album Doxology. This Denver based band blends diverse elements of metal rather well. Look no further than the creeping grunge-like dirge of “Undefined”, which sounds like Alice in Chains and Dream Theater tossed under a steam roller. The grooving beat and fiery solo in the middle make for a great track that could definitely make its way on any metal online radio show.
The band makes a nice thrash attack on the album’s title track. This song’s rhythm changes make this one of the heavier tracks as it paces between manic speed attack and restrained doomy sludge. The guitar work of front man Bryan and fellow guitarist Greg make for a nice trade off as the song never loses that heavy bottom end. “This is War” features a less than subtle Pantera influence with the jackhammer drums and Dimebag Darrell inspired riffs. While extremely brutal, “This is War” is heavy enough to get a mosh pit going and upon first listen, this group could easily share a touring slot with a band like Five Finger Death Punch.
There is a slight case of nu-metal on “Stand By Me,” but the case is quickly cured thanks to Bryan’s operatic vocals. Couple strong vocal work with a bluesy guitar lead, and any doubts of Core Zero treading in nu metal territory are quickly erased.
Core Zero definitely keep the metal good and diverse on Doxology, but still retain the old school metal vibe. This is definitely a record worth checking out.
